Meanwhile on the other side of the planet…

I hear Australia is a lovely place. It has a burgeoning hot sauce scene and the climate makes it ideal for growing chillies. There are lots of great sauces in the country made by some talented and inventive sauce makers.
That's nice Mark, what's that got to do with Singularity Sauce Co?
In a year of weird stuff happening overseas. Namely us being in a hot sauce awards out in California and getting stocked over in Berlin. It seems like these locations weren't far enough away. And so, something else happened. How the sauce ended up in Australia at all, is a happy little “small world” story.
One of my neighbours in Tarves, has a brother who now lives in Australia. Her brother is pals with a man called Mick. Mick is also known as Chilli_diner these days. Australian food and drink enthusiasts will likely already know of him. Hot sauce fans from elsewhere on the planet will know of him and his friends as reviewers of chilli products.
There was a bit of chat and some introductions were made. Turns out Mick is a nice guy. One thing lead to another and a case of sauce left Tarves in the North East of Scotland for an epic voyage to Sydney. Eleven days later, it arrived in full order. The sauces have been split up and shared out between several of them. Every now and again, something happens on Instagram involving one of our products. Seeing the guys in Australia talk about, taste and review our sauces is mind blowing. Just seeing a bottle we've made in Australia is crazy!
Just the other day, Jalapeños & Apples was reviewed live from a real life Aussie creek by Mick and his brother. I’ve watched people review the sauces before but this is next level fun. It's just about the most Australian thing I’ve ever seen.
I love that hot sauce can connect people and communities across the world. Immediately we have common ground and plenty to talk about. We’re all in to flavour and heat. We’re all into good people making good things…even if those things do sometimes punch you in the face.
I've never set foot in Australia but something I've made has had a little bit of an impact there. Now it's time for me to import some of those Aussie sauces into Scotland and see how we stack up.
If anyone would like to jump on that order, get in touch. We can place a larger order to reduce the collective shipping fee. Australia is a very long way away.
